On Wednesday, LeBron James will make his return to Cleveland for the first time as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be an emotional game for the star forward who spent four years with the Cavaliers in his second tenure with his hometown franchise and delivered on a promise to deliver a championship.

But James seems to be taking it in stride, telling reporters after Sunday night’s win over the Miami Heat, that he will not get too caught up in the emotions because “I don’t try to put too much into it.”

The Cavaliers are expected to display a tribute video to LeBron during the game and the fan reaction to the best player in franchise history will be wildly different than his first return in 2010 as a member of the Heat.

LeBron’s second tenure in Cleveland consisted of four Finals trips in four years, including one of the most unpredictable championships in any sport, ever. While things did not end on a high, due to a variety of decisions by the Cavs’ front office, LeBron has never lost sight of what he means to Cleveland and the entire state of Ohio, through both his on-court exploits and off-court philanthropic work.

LeBron has always had a knack of looking for stories and the bigger picture involved in all of his experiences. Wednesday night will not be any different, even if the comments beforehand may indicate differently.
