Los Angeles Lakers

Here are three lessons from one of the worst losses of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

I know the Los Angeles Lakers can’t wait for the week to end. All of the trade rumors surrounding Anthony Davis will finally cease. Either Davis will be in a Lakers uniform (Don’t hold your breath!) or the Lakers push with the roster as is. The franchise will have a plan formulated of what the team will need to do for this important stretch for a playoff run and most importantly.

They can make plans to get past one of the more dysfunctional, embarrassing times in their storied history. The Lakers are crumbling before our eyes and the playoffs are now considered a real challenge no matter if LeBron James plays the rest of the season or not.

The Lakers play a spirited game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night only to have to address the “spirited discussion” between the veterans, specifically JaVale McGee and Michael Beasley about their defined roles and substitution patterns after the game on Tuesday.

Beasley and McGee both addressed their thoughts to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports…

Now Luke Walton had his say at the shoot around before the game…

Can’t wait for the explanation for this game. Can’t blow this one off with…”Fake News”…

The Los Angeles Lakers got embarrassed thoroughly in Indiana losing 136-94 in a game that really could have been worse. The Pacers had a lead as large as 46 points before they took the foot off the gas. This game is not about numbers, it is about the state of the Lakers at the moment.

The real story of this game was, the Lakers basically came out flat and then quit.

For one night, the Lakers were the butt of a lot of jokes and it really looked like they did not care as a team. If the roster knew trades are coming (Svi Mykhailiuk was traded after the game!), they sure played like it because it showed in the checklist below…

  1. The Lakers never led in this game
  2. They were outscored by 45 points from the 3-point line.
  3. They were outscored 33-6 in points off turnovers.
  4. Indiana scored a season-high in points without their franchise player Victor Oladipo.
  5. Indiana set a franchise record hitting 19 three-point shots.

Oh by the way by way of the caption below, the loss happens to be…

Let’s get to it…
